1. If you are working on a project, close the project. The Android Studio IDE home screen appears.

2. Find Configure in the menu below. Then click on project defaults and then on project structure.

3. In the left column, find SDK location and click on that option.

4. Now you can edit the SDK path, I'll show you an example so you can understand it better.
(Example SDK location: C:\android-sdk; I have sub-folders like add-ons, platforms etc under C:\android-sdk)

5. Now click on the Save button which applies the new SDK path.
