What do you think when you here 'FREE' ? It's a set of magical letters atleast when it comes to PC softwares. I like freebies ! What about you ?

Let's have a look at few softwares that would match the capabilities of that used by enterprises and organisations.
Really ? Yes, we'll try our best !

Starting with a photo editing software. Hearing Photo editing might get you into Adobe Photoshop. But wait... It's not free.

Yes but there is a version of Photoshop for free on windows app store.

For simple and quick photo editing this would be the best choice on a PC. It has got quite useful features that could help even a person who has no knowledge in photo editing unlike Photoshop CC has professional tools that would confuse a beginner.

It has a quick fix option that would be very helpful when you don't know to set perfect mix of contrast, brightness and saturation for your image. Eye catching effects such as motion blur and object focus adjustable blur makes it more interesting. You can also add stickers that match your mood on the picture.

Alternatively, there is an application called Polarr which could handle more pictures manipulations.

Interested in making your own music ? Or you run a band ?

CakeWalk - Music Making Application

In cakewalk you can easily compose, record, edit, mix, master music all in one package. Also easily export them to youtube, soundcloud etc.

Coming to the technical specifications of cake walk, it's equipped with a 64-bit mix engine, Resampling, includes VST3 support and harness the power of Audio Random Access for seamless integration of powerful and modern editing tools.

A PC with atleast 4 GB of RAM, with windows 7 or higher could run this software easily. Alternatively, you can also go with Ardour which wouldn't have all the features above but it's cool.

Coming to the most required need on a PC, Video Editing.

Video Editing : Shotcut

Shotcut has been carving out its own niche in the video-editing world as it has cool features that a paid software sometimes might not have , and while it’s still catching up to the enterprise users and organisations, it’s also entirely free on windows app store.

Alternatively, you can also have a look at Openshot which is also another cool video editing software that could help editing a vlog or a family videos of yours.

Office : Libre Office

Pretty much a completely free alternative for MS Office. Yeah we have many other offices on Microsoft app store like WPS office which offers quite a lot features but, it's developed by a chinese company kingsoft, I personally can't believe in chinese softwares. So I choose this as the best MS Office alternative for your PC.

Alternatively, yoy can also have a look on Apache OpenOffice, which is also a free software and an alternative for Microsoft Office.

Notes or a simple Code Editor : Notepad ++

There’s a whole lot of contextual formatting in Notepad++ it is, after all, made for sketching code in all manner of languages, but it’s just as much a straightforward and capable alternative to Microsoft Notepad which miss lots of features that notepad ++ has. And that’s a good thing.

Notepad ++ is based on the powerful editing component Scintilla and Notepad++ is written in C++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL which ensures a higher execution speed and smaller program size.

Alternatively, you can also use Atom developed by Github. Which is also an awesome note and code editor.

That's all for this article, hope you found a software that could help you in getting your work done. Again for FREE $$$.🤑
